About the project
The democratisation process in Albania had and is having blank spaces and obstacles of different types, which are reflected on political stumbles and abnormal transition. This situation is enforced even more from the dark historic path that we have not confronted and as a result our society is still suffering the consequence. Under Albanian contexts, the period after the communism regime fall, is defined as a long transition were in different aspects we see dynamic development of a new pluralist society. Negative impacts had the youth also, which are still reducing their will.
Precisely this was the contexts were our project was inspired, which has in its core creating a
program of 6 trainings/meetings, one per month organized open classes combined with
personal experiences. In the trainings were used non-formal education methods to redirect
youngers toward some subjects which is aimed to build a historical and social journey of
Albania.
The involved youngsters were a group of 30 participants which had the opportunity to follow the six activities. This call was for bachelor and master students of Political Science and Social Science programs.
The project mission is to turn those trainings on constructive debates for specific cases connected with democratization process, that will define and illustrate in a concrete way the similar European realities that passed the same or similar trip toward democratization and rule of law.
Activities will take place once a month from 9:30 AM 5:30 PM
1. 5 th of June 2018 – Albania during communist regime, witnesses and reflective moments on the importance of collective memory.
2. 30 th of June 2018 – The fall of communism regime and transition start.
3. 22 nd of September 2018 – Albania in transition, pluralism consolidation, European and Euro-Atlantic perspective.
4. 6 th of October 2018 – Albania and European integration process: visa liberalization and taking the candidate country status.
5. 27 th of October 2018 – The importance of opening the negotiation, reforms and legislation unification with European Union.
6. 10 th of November 2018 - Scenarios on Albania’s near future as European Union member.
The chosen subjects aim to give a chronologic and explanatory meaning and through different speakers( experts and direct actors of those aspects and time periods) is intended to affect participation and activism aspect, through concentrating the subjects on a comparative mode and the youth analyse on democratization process.
