Summer School “Computer literacy”
About the project
LIBURNETIK in cooperation with ANTEA Cement sh.a has developed for the third year “Computer literacy” project in Thumana villages as a summer school. The third edition has included three villages and about forty youngsters from that area. The project took place on Thuamana’s and Fushë Mamurras’ schools.
In this edition were selected for participation children from Borizana, Shpërdhet, Fushë-Mamurras and Thumana areas, including as well as children from their respectively middle schools who were spotted for their activism in the community and their high grades during 2020-2021 school year, during hard times of COVID-19.
Summer school was organized during June, July and August. There were 8 children from Borizana village, 17 from Shpërdhet and Fushë-Mamurras and 14 from Thumana. Even though the conditions were not the best, considering it was the summer vacation for them, there was still visibly seen a great interest from the students as there were pleasant feedbacks from them about how is the school being organized or if they want an extended period of time for the school.
The methods used are those of formal education intertwined with the informal ones, basing on certified programs intertwined with research work, games and social conversations. This types of methods, now well known as an important part of youth education, give opportunities to these youngsters to not only expand their knowledge by entertaining, but by also having the opportunity that the course will be shaped by their feedback however it suits them best, as a tool for increased interaction between them and the project.
In the end of the work with each group, there was a space dedicated to a review format for a full feedback about their opinions of how this program is built if there should be any changes and if they wanted continuity. It holds a great importance to the organizers and trainers if the project was entertaining enough for the students.
A non-formal certificate award ceremony was held as a final event, during of which all the work was presented and some of the students who had the best achievements, interaction with others and some other factors important to our eye, were stimulated with a gift. Also certificates were given to all of the participants.
