About the project

‘’The World of Sounds’’ project had in its core the art and the help that art can give to children with special needs. It’s purpose was to develop creativity skills, artistic skills and improve the emotional state of children through art therapy and activities that help them integrating in society.[1] dhe aktiviteteve që ndihmojnë në integrimin e tyre në shoqëri.

The project brought in the center well-known art technics, which can help on stress reducing and harmonizing the psyche-social conditions of special needs kids. The activities were held 3 times per week, from 2-3 hours, duration which was inferred as most effective and adaptable during work or on the method used, that took place at one of the rooms of the association dedicated to this program. The activities were alternated with each other and were about mostly two kinds, art therapy and hand made work. Every activity had the focus on the creative work of the kids and the support on them from the experts from different fields, precisely, Art Therapy, Painting and Hand Made.

The project and planed activities implementation showed on concrete way that the used methodology was appropriate, was welcomed by the organization’s employees, and above all from kids themselves. The program was well adapted from autistic kids and young people with intellectual disabilities. From the expected results were artistic activities that had to do with expression of creativity that help the target group on raising self-esteem and being secure, facing the stress and traumatic experiences, mood improvement, and raising interest for physical activities, coordinated moves, and also widening cognitive skills.

The achieved objectives of this project were:

• The discovery and development of artistic skills for autistic and intellectual disability kids form professionals of art.
• Developing the therapy through art.
• Improvement of emotional state of kids through the most well known methods at the moment mentioned bellow.
• Developing a new approach on disabilities, the focus on talent evaluation and not at the lack of talent, raising social sensibility, and other.

The direct beneficiaries of this project were autistic and intellectual disability kids of Help the Life Association, Tirana, but also there are the indirect beneficiaries, which some are the families of the kids of Association, their relatives and all the citizens that participated at the exhibit, which became aware of the potential and talent that kids with special needs have, how they can work and how can those kids be helped in the future. From this project benefited in indirect way the society were a new approach is expected from them toward disabilities, focus on talent evaluation and raising social sensibility.
