The Academy of Activism
About the project
Friedrich Ebert Foundation in collaboration with LIBURNETIK Organization, on the frame of ‘On Going Development of Youth’, have implement their newest project, Politic Activism of Youth, know as ‘Academy of Activism’.
The main objectives of ‘Activism Academy’:
- Raising consciousness of youth about their role in community;
- Youth as change agents;
- Inclusion of 60 young people on national level;
This project was directed to youth between ages 18-27 which were the direct beneficiaries;
The main purpose of this project was increasing knowledge of youth on the concept of activism, on the means and strategies that should be followed to have the largest impact and good results on the taken causes. The program of this training cycle puts in the first place awareness of Youth Activism. This program will also cover the importance of organizing in order to achieve effective results no boosting different causes in our society.
‘Activism Academy’ is a cycle of training that was organized in two phases, which included two groups with around 30 people each. The first phase was done on June 2019 and the second phase was done on October 2019.
Each of the phases contains 6 training days and was extended in 3 weekends.
Topics that were discussed and this Academy is focused are:
- Democracy;
- Gender equality;
- Environment;
- Inequality;
- Consumer rights;
- Education.
Topics were addressed by a group of prominent experts of the above fields, composed by:

Vasilika Laçi – Program Manager, Civil Rights Defenders

Edlira Gjoni – Gazetare, eksperte komunikimi, McCain Institute
Olsi Nika – Executive Director, EcoAlbania
Rigels Xhemollari – Executive Director, Civil Resistance
Ersida Teliti – Executive Director, Albanian Consumer Center
The Academy of Activism was prepared and went on with presentations, informal methods of formation, discussions and group work. The young participants took concrete initiatives, which are going to be addressed on relevant institutions.
This project aims to inform and aware young people that activism needs concrete steps, organizing and coordination.
